I’m currently attending the Interactive Art Director program at Hyper Island. So what makes this school so special?
There are no teachers. There is no one answering your questions other than your fellow students. We are all each others teachers. Fifty one students from nineteen different countries and almost all with previous work experience.
Learning by doing and learning by failure is a method used at Hyper. You rarely do the same mistakes twice and if someone was there to always tell you what to do, then what have you learned? That said we don’t usually fail, but at least we are not scared to fail.
From day one we work with modules hosted by big agencies around the world and often towards real clients. We focus a lot on group dynamics and apart from learning how to lead we learn how to be a good team player.
During and after each module we spend time reflecting on how things are going or how they went. A good way to grow individually and as a team.
